How GIS is used in Bradley County
Bradley County’s GIS system currently involves the offices of the Assessor of Property, County Engineer, and the County Planner. Each of these offices provide data such as parcel information, zoning, county addressing, and street information. Other agencies from our city government and our local utilities have their own GIS system providing us with much needed data such fire hydrants, water lines, sewer data, city addressing, city zoning, etc. Recent projects such as our 20 year growth plan, setting a new fire district, and finding the location of a new fire station, have made decision making for our officials a much easier task than before GIS data was available. The most recent implementation for Bradley County is the setting up of an intranet system enabling many county employees to access our GIS data via a browser.
